Frictionless Access To Information During Family Crises.
Providing a home-away-from-home to keep families together during a child’s serious illness is what Ronald McDonald House Charities is all about. Each year, the organization serves over 5,000 families – some from across the region and others from across the globe.

To streamline the check-in process and provide a seamless digital experience throughout families’ stay, I developed, designed and launched a digital web-app specifically built for the unique needs of the situation.

During their stay, families now have instant access to a wide range of tools and services via the new mobile app, as the solution replaces outdated brochures, posters and other static forms of information. From basic facility information and onsite contact info to meal options and “at-a-tap” directions to nearby restaurants and stores, the app is proven to be a valuable tool for all use cases and scenarios.

In addition to these location-specific offerings, family updates and notifications have also been built within. Using the web app, staff members can now alert incoming families on check-in status, room availability, special events, etc via a simple SMS or email message.

The RMH Family web app is in its early stages of the rollout and has already seen incredible success across the division. As further family feedback is received, we look forward to continuing the expansion of in-app capabilities.
